The “Hangover” Routine

So last night I went out, as I do most summer nights on the weekend. I went to my favorite rooftop and basically kicked off my Summer by drinking (alcoholic)  peach slushies on a nice warm summer night.

IMG_6096.JPG

Naturally, I woke up in the morning feeling kind of blah and dehydrated. I won’t go as far as to say I was hungover, but I was feeling some after effects for sure. So of course, I have a whole routine to bring me back to life…especially my skin.

First off I start by going ham with the water. I’ve probably had about four or five glasses of water today and I’m still so thirsty. I like to drink alkaline water because it supposedly rids the body of toxins…but I also like my good ‘ol filtered water too.

For whatever reason, my nail polish always gets chipped on one or two of my nails whenever I go out. Last night, they got pretty messed up somehow, so the blue will be coming off right after this blog post. Any good nail polish color recommendations?

As I’m typing this, I have a hydrating mask on my face. I have the Farmacy Honey Potion on to be exact. This mask never fails to make my skin feel so smooth and look glowy, which is great after a night out drinking.

Normally, I would include a lip mask as well, but I currently don’t have one on me. I like to get the sheet lip masks from Sephora for $3. They actually do work especially after a good lip scrub!

Last, but not least, I rest! I use this time to catch up on my shows and get some much-needed sleep. It’s great to go out and enjoy yourself, but it’s even better to take care of yourself after a long night. I’m a huge fan of pampering myself even if I have no reason to! I plan to write more about self-pampering in the near future because it’s so important!

That’s it for tonight, you guys. As always, thanks for reading!

A Post About the Beach

Yesterday, I made my way to the beach, which is why I did not post. I’m here today though! I wanted to share some pictures with you guys and talk about my grand ‘ol time at Ocean City.

Now, Ocean City isn’t my first beach of choice, but that didn’t stop it from still being a beach! I LOVE the water and being near it, so I was extremely happy!

IMG_6045

These were me and my friend’s beach “essentials” – the quotations because the Instax cameras were completely unnecessary, but made the experience that much better.

IMG_6041

My mom got this really cool bag in her PopSugar Box and decided to lend it to me for the day. The bag is by Stephanie Johnson and apparently, she makes other really cool bags as well. The bag was perfect for the beach because it doesn’t get sandy or wet! Also, it’s super cute!

IMG_6073

Obviously, I had to take pictures with the Instax camera, hence why I brought it along with me. I was a little nervous about the pictures developing because of how bright it was outside, but most of the pictures turned out so well!

And of course, I had to speak about my swimsuit that I got from CupShe. I ordered it last month for my Miami trip. It is a super cute swimsuit, but it does not fit in my slow fashion parameters whatsoever. The bottoms are slightly too big, however, I didn’t get in the water because it was FREEZING!

Overall, the trip was really fun and wasn’t too bad of a drive at all. I hope to go at least one more time this Summer. I’ll be sure to take even more pictures if I do go and post them on another blog post as well as my Instagram!

Back at it again with the CLEAN EATING

Ever since I’ve gotten back from Miami, I’ve been eating not so clean. I haven’t been eating extremely bad either just not as clean as I normally do. I’ve been going out a whole lot more than usual since the weather is warmer. What can I say? I love rooftop bars!

IMG_5935-1

It’s no secret that alcohol isn’t great for you and neither is most bar food. So, today I took it upon myself to go to the grocery store and buy whole foods. That’s not to say I won’t be going to the rooftops anymore, but I am going to be a whole lot more mindful of my intake of well anything again.

Before Miami, I was eating more salads, drinking more water and eating frozen and canned vegetables. Now, I’m taking it a bit further and I plan on eating fresh veggies that I can eat raw, steam, or sauté. Of course, I’m still going to be eating salads, but I want to start eating more of them more often.

IMG_5949

As for meat goes, I’m already a chicken and seafood girl and only indulge in red meat very rarely. As I’m typing this I am eating a salad that has lettuce (duh,) green onions and cucumbers with some salt and pepper and homemade honey mustard dressing.

IMG_5948

One cool thing I noticed while shopping today, the vegetables (lettuce, green onions) smelled extremely fresh like they were pulled straight from the dirt earlier this morning.  I am very much here for that!

Also, it might as well be Summer now because I found a really fresh watermelon that is so sweet! Look for black spots on the melon. This shows that bees have pollinated the watermelon, which gives it that sweet flavor! Fun fact!

IMG_5950

Well, that’s all for today. I wanted to get back on my clean eating game and include you guys in it. So, I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading.

Going Braless Pt. 2

I didn’t post yesterday, but there’s a really good reason for that…I didn’t know what to post about. Then I thought about how well my whole “braless journey” is going especially now that it’s hot again.

Last summer I gave up the boob panties aka the bra. That’s not to say I don’t wear bras anymore, but I more often than not opt out. If you want to read my Pt. 1 about going braless last year then click here.

Even in the winter, I didn’t really choose a bra because of the bulky layers I would be wearing. It wasn’t until Spring started that I would reach for a boob holder. I’ve traded in a good portion of my bras for pasties, bralettes, and the occasional bandeau. Now that Summer is right around the corner….so long bras!

IMG_5918

I’m a huge fan of bralettes! For one, they are extremely cute and they are surprisingly comfortable. American Eagle, Urban Outfitters, and Free People have some of the nicest bralettes, even for the big busted ladies out there.

IMG_5916

I also really love pasties. I was so afraid to wear them at first, but now I’m pretty much hooked on them. I prefer the silicone ones over the stick on ones, but the silicone pasties do tend to gather sweat more so than the stick-on pasties. You can find many many types of pasties on Amazon. If you do plan on getting some silicone pasties, then make sure to read the reviews to see if you’re getting the good kind that lasts longer.

IMG_5919

One thing I did notice about going braless was that my “girls” actually got perkier! Either I’m just getting older or the lack of restriction is letting them breathe and promoting growth (lol.) Anyway, my “braless journey” is still going very well and I recommend considering doing so. The freedom is amazing! Thanks for reading!

Going Braless Pt. 2

Boyfriend Jeans Outfit of the Day

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a fashion post so why not now? I think the rest of the week and next Monday I will be posting just fashion…unless of course that changes. Okay now onto the outfit!

So, it’s a really mild day today, in fact, it’s pretty chilly out. I decided to where my new Lucky Brand boyfriend jeans that I am so in love with and a long sleeve black shirt. I also grabbed my new North Face rain coat and slid into my gray Zara sneakers. Obviously, I didn’t do it up with my outfit, but I LOVE this look because it’s still so chic yet comfortable.

IMG_5892

I didn’t realize how much I needed boyfriend jeans until I actually had them. I love how they can go with just about anything, including heels or a nice crop top.

IMG_5888

I also didn’t realize how essential a raincoat was until I didn’t have one for the last two years. Fun fact about me, I lose umbrellas like nobody’s business. I just purchased an umbrella about three weeks ago and I’m pretty sure it’s lost into oblivion.

I’ve worn this look so many times already and I just can’t get enough of it. I really am excited to change it up as it gets a little bit warmer. I’ll be sure to keep you guys in the loop when I do.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation + Giveaway WINNER.

Happy Monday everyone! So first I want to thank everyone who entered the giveaway! I’m very glad that people actually participated and I will be having more giveaways in the future so be sure to enter those when they come along. So I used a raffle app on my phone called Raffle App to choose a winner for me.

IMG_5876

Without further ado…the winner of my giveaway is: IMG_5877

Congratulations EmmZeeBee, I’ll be messaging you on Instagram later today to get your information!

Now for the blog post! I HAD to get The Ordinary Serum Foundation and try it out. I filmed a video about it even and I’ll post it at the end of this blog.

I ordered this foundation May 6th and it didn’t arrive until May 28th. There were a ton of people ordering and it took awhile to process, but it was well worth the wait. I read a handful of reviews and everybody really fell in love with this foundation. I was really psyched for it to arrive!

IMG_3696

Here are a few things to know about the foundation:

  • Lightweight almost like water
  • Medium coverage
  • Buildable
  • Satin finish
  • Plays well with others (other foundations or concealers)
  • No creasing
  • Incredibly affordable

IMG_3695So far, I’m really loving it except that it doesn’t contain SPF which is alright because I can wear sunscreen underneath. I do choose to wear this at night when I don’t want a super full coverage look.

I’m done rambling because I did plenty of that in the video. Thanks for reading as always!

Miami Travels

So yes I know that I’ve abandoned you guys once again, but I’ve been thoroughly enjoying myself in the beautiful city of Miami. I had an amazing time there, which I’m sure if you follow me on Instagram you can see for yourself. I thought I would just come on here and just briefly talk about my time in Miami along with some pictures! Read till the end if you’re participating in my giveaway.

IMG_5813

I didn’t get a chance to take any pictures of my outfits because I spent so much time in my swimsuit either by the pool or on the beach. I think it’s safe to say that Florida has some of the best beaches, but I’m no expert of course.

IMG_5806

When in Miami you just have to drink no matter what time it is. When it’s 10 AM the only acceptable drink to drink is a mimosa even though the price is hiked ALL the way up.

IMG_5849

The hotel I stayed in was called the Standard and it was everything but standard. The pool is located right by the bay on Venetian Island. I’m almost embarrassed to say that I spent copious amounts of time by the pool instead of the beach.

So you guys know I’m a self-proclaimed foodie and found this place on South Beach called Naked Taco. I can honestly say…BEST. TACOS. EVER! I had the chicken and mango salsa tacos which I’m going to have to remake at home because – YES! I also couldn’t leave Miami without getting my hands on a Miami Vice (strawberry daiquiri mixed with a pina colada.)

IMG_5851On my last full day, I had breakfast by the pool and that was just amazing! This is the prettiest and tastiest Huevos Rancheros I have ever had! I’m not a huge fan of avocados, but I ate these without even thinking about it.

So I’m sure you can tell that I LOVED Miami and I will be going back at some point. I think it’s a good place to do a weekend trip with friends to just get away. I will say I am happy to be back in the D.C. area because this is home to me now.

If you’re in my giveaway or want to participate in my giveaway, remember that it ends tomorrow and the winner will be announced Monday, June 5th, 2017. Good luck!
