Products I Don’t Use Anymore

Beauty, Lifestyle, Natural, simplicity, skincare, Uncategorized

It’s definitely one of those weeks where I’m not really sure what I want to talk about on this here blog. I’m still recovering from the party/BBQ my family and I had last weekend and I think I still have liquor brain or something. I’ve been getting my life organized as well and developing daily routines to keep everything simple for myself.

As I was writing this I came up with an idea for a blog post today. Who says you can’t get things done under pressure? I randomly thought about products that I don’t use anymore and said to myself “hey that would make a good blog post.” So here I go!

I feel like I’ve done a ton of reviews on here and I can’t honestly say that I still use each and every product that I have reviewed. A good portion of the products that I LOVED at the time didn’t last like I thought they would.

The first one the list is the Facial Radiance Pads! Ok so I technically didn’t stop using these, I just had to take a break from them. In fact, I took a break from most of the products containing any sort of acid. I felt like acids were causing my face to be inflamed which of course caused acne. I had to make my routine a little more gentle. At some point, I will incorporate acids back in, but I may not have to apply them as often as I was.

I know! I was obsessed with the Herbivore Lapis Oil. In fact, I’m still obsessed, but my skin isn’t. My super sensitive skin started to react negatively when I used the oil. It would cause redness and it hurt to touch my skin, but only in certain spots like my chin or my cheeks. I tried to incorporate it back into my routine, but the same thing would happen. However, it did not go to waste, because my mom has it at the moment.

I was really excited to use this trio since I adore Josie Maran’s argan oil. What had happened was, the cleansing oil broke me out SO bad. Oddly enough, argan oil is a non- comedogenic oil so there must have been something else that irritated my skin. The sunscreen and the oil didn’t break me out though.

FullSizeRender-1

As much as I liked the Leahlani Skincare line, I just couldn’t see myself repurchasing the Honey Love or Champagne Serum again. The products specifically seemed to be more for dry skin, not sensitive combo skin. The Mermaid Sea mask will always be on my repurchasing list though!

FullSizeRender

I’m not completely sure if ever reviewed this Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser  but I’m sure I’ve mentioned it. This did a great job at brightening my skin, but it never really kept the acne to a minimal. Having glowy acne is a different approach. I may repurchase once I for real get the pimples under absolute control.

So, I guess this was a “where are they now?” type of post today. Also, these all ended up being skin care products…I guess those are the only items I actually buy. Hopefully Thursday I will have some actual material even though this wasn’t too bad! Thanks for reading.

Beauty & Skincare Restock

Beauty, Lifestyle, Natural, skincare

Don’t you hate it when you slowly start running out of your beauty products? It’s like you definitely know that you need to restock, but you keep putting it off for a number of various reasons. I made this mistake and now I need everything it seems…a moisturizer, some cotton pads, brow tint, and a facemask. I would also like to buy some fashion accessories as well as a new outfit for my upcoming birthday. All together, that will cost me a pretty penny.

So now, I’ll have to buy all of these items a little at a time. I also may have to forgo my normal purchases like my Boy Brow from Glossier and my Leahlani Mermaid Mask. The reason I’m sharing this with you all is that now I have to plan out my purchases and truly think about them and also I want to keep you guys updated.

I did bite the bullet and purchase a moisturizer this morning to get that out of the way. I ordered from Tula.com where they sell the new popular probiotic skincare. I thought I would give it a try, so I ordered the travel-sized version. Expect a review in the upcoming weeks!

The next step is to go into Sephora and wish myself luck and hope I don’t try to buy things I don’t even need. I’m going for those amazing Shiseido cotton pads and something nice and affordable for my eyebrows…or lack thereof. As for the facemask, I think I can get away with making my own until I get around to purchasing the Leahlani Mermaid Mask again.

So that’s all I wanted to share with you all since I have no products to review or any outfits to share. Hopefully, this was still equally as enjoyable. Thanks for reading =D.

Current Skin Care Routine

Beauty, Lifestyle, simplicity, skincare, Uncategorized

I haven’t broken out in almost three weeks now. I have one pimple right this second that was caused by my excessive dairy intake, but that is all. That is a record for me…by now my skin would be covered in a bunch of unsightly pimples that appeared out of thin air. I don’t know what it is about my current skincare routine, but my face likes it a lot! I bet you can already guess what I’ll be talking about today then – my current skincare routine!

First, I’m going to talk about the nighttime because that’s typically when I have the most steps.

So I do wear makeup – foundation, eyeliner, mascara, you know the usual. Therefore, it’s so important for me to do a first and second cleanse. I like to start off with either my Dr. Jart’s Dermaclear Micellar Water or my Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil to get my make up off. I gave up makeup wipes a long time ago because I felt that they were slightly too abrasive on my skin. After doing my first cleanse I normally just do whatever needs to be done at home before I move onto my second cleanse.

I’ve fallen in love with my Bosica Charcoal Deep Cleansing Stick because I feel like it really does do a nice deep cleanse without being too harsh. I honestly do think charcoal was one of the keys to keeping the pimples away for this long. Anything with charcoal or even clay might be my saving grace for my pesky acne-prone skin.

IMG_3658

My next step is toning which I did not think was even important. Sometimes there can be leftover dirt or just leftover cleanser, which needs to come off. I use the Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Instant Infusion Treatment Toner mainly for extra hydration.

IMG_3660

Then I follow up with my Glossier Super Pure niacinamide serum which I think played a big role in keeping the pimples away as well…I mean that’s what it’s for.

IMG_3661

I finish off the nighttime routine with the Dr. Jart’s Water Drop that is packed with lots of hydration. I like the Korean skincare brands lately…they work!

IMG_3663

In the morning I rinse my face with lukewarm water and tone my face. I recently purchased this MISSHA Time Revolution Clear Toner from SokoGlam. The toner contains fermented yeast extract which promotes cellular turnover and a brighter, even skin tone. So far, I like it and it’s another Korean brand!

IMG_3662

I apply the Glossier Super Pure again and then moisturize with the Dr. Jart’s Water Drop and I’m done!

On Wednesday’s or Thursday’s, I’ll usually do a mask. Lately, I’ve been reaching for my Leahlani Mermaid Mask…it’s almost time to purchase some more.

IMG_3427

That’s really all I’ve been doing with my skin lately. I’m a little afraid to add any acids again that at some point I’ll add the First Aid Beauty Glycolic Pads back in since they are pretty gentle.

Sorry for posting so late today, I had another busy day and I didn’t want to completely neglect you guys again. So, thanks for reading!

Unnecessary Things I’ve Been Loving

Beauty, Lifestyle, Natural, simplicity, skincare

So about that snow storm…well, it snowed but it certainly wasn’t a storm not where I live anyway. If anything, it just got really cold, snowed and then the snow turned to ice. Today it’s extremely windy and bone-chilling cold out. As cold as it is, I appreciate the little (sort of big) things that make life great like heated seats in the car. Who doesn’t like a warm booty?

IMG_5210

Speaking of little things I appreciate…I’ve made some pretty recent purchases. You guys know that I don’t typically go overboard with purchases, but sometimes there are just things that I truly believe make life great. Theses aren’t exactly purchases that were necessary but I really did want them and am glad that I have them now.

IMG_3425

I’ve been wanting the Fresh Sugar Lychee perfume for the longest! I want the full sized bottle since I’ve been using the rollerball but I’ll be a good girl and wait until this baby runs out. The scent is very fresh (no pun intended) and clean…it smells a bit like soda.

IMG_3426

Yes, I had to match the Sugar Lychee lotion with the perfume :D. The lotion doesn’t smell anything like the perfume, but it’s still a really good lotion. I think next time I’ll buy the Sugar Lemon, which I know for a fact smells yummy! Fresh has been giving me so much life lately…I wish I would have been hip a long time ago!

IMG_3424

So, I purchased these lashes off of Amazon last week and I really like them. They’re lightweight and pretty easy to put on. They were only $10 for 6 pairs. I don’t normally wear lashes but mascara has been seriously giving me the blues lately. For now, I’m just experimenting a little.

IMG_3427

Funny story about this Leahlani product. I ordered it last Tuesday and it was supposed to arrive on Saturday. There was a key put in my mailbox saying to open a bigger mailbox to retrieve my package. Nothing was there. By Monday night I was ready to email Leahlani Skincare and tell them that my package must have gotten lost. However, I completely forgot and didn’t even worry about it. Tuesday comes around and I hear the USPS truck making its way in the snow. An hour later I open my front door and there’s my Mermaid Mask packed all nicely. I open it only to find it completely frozen. I did get to use it last night and it made my skin so supple and soft. Yes, a review will be up as soon as I use it enough times to actually have an honest opinion.

So, these are some somewhat frivolous things that I’ve been loving that make my life just that much better. What are some not so necessary products that make your life great?

Thanks for reading.
