4 Outfits to Wear While Transitioning into Fall
It’s that time of year where it’s nice and cool in the morning and then boom it’s still kind of summer. I used to hate this type of weather when I was younger, but as I’ve gotten older I have learned to appreciate it a little more – mostly because I know how to dress for the transition now. While it isn’t officially sweater weather just yet, we do get a little taste of it for the next week or so. Keep reading if you want some outfit inspiration or just to see what I’ve been and will be wearing during the fall transition and during the fall.
Midi & Maxi Dresses
I used to think long dresses were only good for the summer but transitioning them into fall is a whole vibe too. Of course this only works out if the temperatures are going to be warmer rather than cooler. However, you can throw on some ankle boots and a longline cardigan and wear a summery dress well into the cooler weather.
For a dress that is a little less summery like the one pictured below is perfect for the transition. I would completely change the style of this dress by throwing on some biker shorts and some rocker or sock boots. I’d even throw on a leather biker jacket (if I had one) to really solidify the look.
Cottagecore
While the whole Cottagecore trend isn’t a style that would exactly follow, I thought I’d give it a try to see how I felt in it. Of course, I didn’t go all out and buy a whole entire outfit but just a little piece of the trend. Gingham and puffy sleeves pretty much scream Cottagecore. I paired the top with some basic dark wash, high waist jeans, and some blue snake print heels. If you are trying to go for the full Cottagecore look, definitely lose the heels and go for some boots or oxfords.
My last and favorite outfit is of course the most relaxed look – joggers and a crop top. Although, I’m loving the sage green trend that’s going on right now. Everything is sage green (or mint green) and I love the way it looks on brown skin! Joggers and a crop top, in general, are such a go-to these days because of all the working for home. There’s not too much of a reason to get as dressed up anymore. I think this is a great transitional outfit because you can layer a hoodie or cardigan over and still look really great. Joggers are literally never going out of style and will most likely remain on trend for the next several seasons.
Even though Fall is officially next week, I know that the weather isn’t going to do a complete 180 overnight. I hope you all got some inspiration out of some of these outfits. I will definitely be doing more Fall stuff as the season progresses. Follow my Instagram @chelsiiohkay for more outfit inspiration.
