Say Hello to Tranexamic Acid by Inkey List

Hello there, I’m ChelsiKay and I have been suffering from acne-prone skin since I was thirteen years old. Not only have I experienced all different types of acne (cystic, hormonal, whiteheads, and blackheads) but I have and still experience hyperpigmentation. To be more specific, I deal with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) which is just a dark spot that forms after a pimple has popped, drained, or gone away. In other words, it’s a scar. Fun times right?

Most people who have PIH are typically people of color but pretty much anybody can get it. Anyway, I say all this because I have finally found a product that works to get rid of these annoying dark spots without irritation, purging, or dryness. That product is The Inkey List Tranexamic Acid Hyperpigmentation Treatment.

Of course there are plenty of other products out there that do the same but Inkey List seems to be the only product that does it at such a good price point. I can’t tell you the last I saw a treatment or serum that was under $30 let alone $20 other than products from the Ordinary.

If there is any confusion as to what Tranexamic acid is, here is a little description:

“Tranexamic acid provides a powerful and specific anti-inflammatory action, inhibiting the tyrosinase synthesis in melanocytes. At the same time it blocks the transfer of pigment from melanocytes to keratinocytes in the epidermis. Tranexamic acid also calms the skin and helps restore the skin barrier.”

In the medical field, tranexamic acid is also known to treat heavy cycles or for those who need blood clotting promoters. Obviously, the Inkey List serum isn’t the same form as the ones in the doctor’s office but you get my point.

For the last few weeks, I have been watching one of my darkest spots fade pretty nicely. I guess this is proof that it actually works. By the way please don’t mind my breakouts, these face masks are killing my skin! I started off by using the serum twice a week and now I’m using it about four times a week. The serum is really gentle and I don’t get irritation bumps, peeling, or even raw skin. I have to say, I was pretty surprised because other dark spot removers in the past have given me such raw, inflamed skin. I’ll probably keep using this until I see even more improvement.

If you have some hyperpigmentation/dark spots that you’d like to fade then I would definitely give this a try. It does actually work, just slowly and its gentle yet effective. I will give an update in about a month – if I don’t break out even more from the masks.

Thanks for reading,

ChelsiKay
