5 Packing Tips & Tricks for Travel

It’s been over a year since I’ve traveled out of the country until last week and I must say that I’ve missed traveling so much. The one thing I happen to dislike about traveling is packing. It’s probably one of the most boring and menial tasks I could think of, but it’s something that has to be done when you travel. I’ve come up with some tips and tricks that have helped me out when packing. Keep reading if you would like to know my little hacks. Check out my other packing tips while you’re at it.

I think we’ve all heard and seen of packing cubes! They pretty much save space and keep all of your clothing neat when you’re traveling. I will always and forever use packing cubes when traveling. You can purchase cubes pretty much anywhere now, I got mine for pretty cheap on Amazon.

Speaking of Amazon, I also purchased these awesome TSA-approved toiletry containers that came with a tiny funnel, spatula, and syringe to get creams, gels and such into the bottles. You guys know how I feel about my skincare, so this was a must! My 6-7 step skincare routine was on the go with me on my vacation. I recommend this set or something similar.

This is kind of a weird tip, but I always tend to buy drugstore or beauty supply makeup when I travel. I do this because I would hate to lose a makeup product that I spent a lot of money on in a hotel room or even at the airport. Even though I’m not one to lose my belongings, I can never be too sure. Now I don’t ever purchase a ton of products, just things like concealer, mascara, and eyebrow gel or powder. If I’m on my way to somewhere hot and tropical, I will purchase a shade darker if necessary.

Some may know this trick already, but save your little mesh and canvas baggies! These are amazing for any little trinkets you may want to take along with you. There is nothing worse than getting your necklaces tangled or your stud earrings floating in your carry-on. You can also use these for all of the many charging cords that you’ll probably bring with you too.

Last but not least, if you plan on taking a handbag with you, pack two. One you can carry on your wrist and one you can wear across your body. Typically when you travel, you’re going to be out and about and it’s great to keep your hands free. I personally prefer to carry a wristlet that has space for my phone especially if I’m not straying too far away from the hotel. A wristlet or crossbody also comes in handy when at the airport and going through security and/or customs.

So just to recap, packing cubes are a huge must when traveling and so are TSA approved containers. Carry your favorite but little handbags and don’t forget the mesh baggies for your jewelry. Also, keep your more expensive makeup at home and go for the cheaper drugstore brands. Hopefully, this was a helpful post.

Leave one of your tips and tricks that you use for packing.

As Always,
