Aesop In Two Minds Facial Cleanser

A couple of posts ago, I did a review on the Elemis Thousand Flowers Mask. I stated that it was time to kind of upgrade or change my skincare products to something a little bit more simplistic. I’m trying to achieve a simple but effective routine that still keeps my skin in check. I’ve been experimenting with different brands over the last few months, Osea, Aesop, Kora Organics, and Elemis to name a few.

Here’s a little bit of a back story on why I’m switching things up now. I pretty much explained the first reason – I want a simpler routine/product line up. The second reason is that my favorite Boscia Charcoal Cleanser has been discontinued and I’m on the search for a cleanser that will give me the same results if not better.

One of the brands I ended up choosing is Aesop. My mom already shops at Aesop for their hand cream and soaps. If you didn’t know already, their hand creams are like crack and are a perfect winter staple. Let’s just say, you guys may see an Aesop haul in the coming months. Anyway, I ended up purchasing a cleanser that I thought was perfect for my skin from Aesop.

Facial Cleanser 1

If you’re already hip, then you know about the Aesop In Two Minds Facial Cleanser. It’s a gel-based cleanser that contains salicylic acid, sage, and witch hazel. The salicylic acid was a little off-putting at first for me, but it doesn’t strip my skin at all, just like the description says. I wrote this review a little bit different than my other reviews. I documented my days for once still not with photos but with text.

Day One

The first night I washed my face with this beautiful brand new cleanser and my skin felt so light afterward. There was a little more dryness than I’m used to which could pose a problem in the wintertime. I know a hydrating toner will probably fix that right on up, so I’m not too worried as of now. Anywho, In Two Minds left my skin feeling decongested, light and airy especially in comparison to other cleansers.

Day Two

The second day, I got the same light, decongested feeling in my face. It’s a feeling that I’m not really used to and it makes me wonder what has been in my pores all of this time? I still had that dry feeling after, but I ended up spraying my Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist and toned with Dr. Thayer Witch Hazel with cucumber. I then finished my routine off with Herbivore’s Emerald Cannabis Sativa Hemp Deep Moisture Glow Oil and there was no longer any trace of dryness.

Week Two

By week two, my skin has gotten so soft after continuous use of In Two Minds. I’m still shocked by the light airy feeling that I get after cleansing. I sometimes don’t even have to oil cleanse if I don’t have on heavy makeup. I feel as if I have a blank canvas every time and my moisturizing products soak in so nicely now.

I wish I would have switched to Aesop sooner because they have some pretty awesome products and they’re about the same price I would pay for a cleanser at Sephora. I can’t wait to try one of their moisturizers and see what results I get from that combination. So far I really like this cleanser and I think it does what it says and has a pretty decent ingredient list. It’s been a while since I’ve been excited over a new skincare product, but I think Aesop’s line will end up being a staple brand for me. Of course, I will keep you all updated in that endeavor but until then you guys know whats up.

Thanks for reading. As always,

ChelsiKay
