Decorating & Organizing with Plants

I know that I’ve been away for some time, but I had to recover from my stressful workdays. Everything is almost back to normal now. Hopefully, I can put a few of these posts out now!

My plant collection started off as four plants – a Golden Pothos, an Aloe Vera, some pointy looking thing (its a Dracaena) and Lucky Bamboo. I now have about twenty-three plants as of last week. I don’t know what happened, but after I read the book, Wild at Home,  I had this urge to start buying plants and using them to decorate my bedroom. You guys know I struggle with keeping my space organized and having these plants has seriously helped. I can’t stand to see clutter near my growing babies, so now I’m more inclined to clear off my surfaces more often. I talked about using plants to fill surface space but…I didn’t think this many plants at the time, however, I like this way so much better.

Not only has this helped to keep me organized, but I love decorating with the plants too. I can buy or make shelves, stands, and hangers to put plants all over my room and that counts a decorating element. For instance, I bought some super affordable shelves off of Amazon and now I have some beautiful green babes sitting on them. They just add a much-needed pop of color to my space and I can’t get over it.

The energy in my room is different too – there’s life now and it’s cool to live amongst nature without having to actually be in nature. I also like the aspect of being able to keep something alive…kind of like a dog or a baby but with a whole lot less responsibility. Seriously though, it’s actually super rewarding to see a plant grow bigger and create its own babies.

Needless to say, this plant thing has become almost an obsession but not quite. I can’t say I would ever have an indoor jungle…maybe a minimal indoor jungle though. I hope this post was fun for you all. Leave a comment if you want to see more plant posts and how I’m decorating with them. Also, tell me what your favorite plant is!
