Apps That I Use to Get Fit
Welcome back you guys or welcome if you’re new here. I’ve been doing this Glow-up Series for the past three weeks and so far it’s been so much fun for me, but also a lot of work. It’s actually kind of weird not being able to post freely on here about whatever I want. So, I’ve decided to remove one of the Glow Up weeks and end it this week. I think four weeks is plenty and I can always talk about money management when I actually get a full grasp on the concept.
So, today, I’ll be talking about diet and exercise, something I think I’m pretty well versed in – emphasis on I THINK. I’m definitely not an expert. However, I don’t want to tell you guys what you should eat and how you should exercise, that’s not what we do here on this blog….unless you refuse to wear sunscreen on your face. Instead of going the preachy route, I just want to share some apps and the such with you all today.
So I don’t know about yall but I actually like working out…well now I do. I love a good home workout as well as some yoga. Thank goodness for YouTube. A few years ago, a friend of mine loved going to the gym but with a friend. That friend was me and I despised gyms. The people there, as well as the equipment, was pretty intimidating. I know not all gyms are the same, but the ones that I lived close to were always filled with professional weightlifters and gym rats of the sorts. Plus, the memberships were almost never worth it to me because I hardly used any weights or machinery.
Fast forward to now and I just try to avoid gyms, unless its the one in my subdivision clubhouse. I save money and I’m usually in the comfort of my own home or at least near it. There are two people that I watch on YouTube, one who does core and booty and another who does yoga. Vicky Justiz and Sarah Beth Yoga – both will surprise you with their workouts and you WILL sweat. I also use an app called Workout for Women which I love because you can adjust your settings to your liking and do short workouts if you’re on the busier side. Another YouTuber you can watch if you’re serious about getting fit is Shelley Darlington. I like her channel because she speaks about both diet and exercise and she tells the truth – basically she’s going to tell you why certain workouts work and others don’t. Watching those channels will lead you to other channels, but I say do what works for you!
For my diet, I always try to eat as clean as possible. I’m definitely not 100% there but I am working on it. An app that I’m so glad I came across is Mealime! They have so many meals to choose from and you can change up to settings for any diet you may be on. So if you’re doing a Paleo diet, they’ll weed out any meals that aren’t Paleo. There’s even a Flexitarian, Vegan, and Pescatarian option. That’s not even the best part – you can choose how many servings you want and the app will tell you how many (or how much) ingredients to purchase at the grocery store. I’m not at all sponsored by any of these apps that I have mentioned, but I wouldn’t mind it. I just really like these apps because they’re actually useful for the average person like myself.
Since we’re speaking a little bit about diet, I think it would be a good idea to go check out my food Instagram page. I obnoxiously call myself a foodie and one day decided to create a page of just food. Some of the food is from restaurants that I’ve eaten at and some are my own recipes that I make at home. I haven’t been as active as I could, but that’s about to change very soon! @chelsikay.eats if you’re interested!
That’s all for today you all! I hope you enjoyed the Glow-up Series. I did! I’m looking forward to writing more freely now and posting some new content! Look out for that. As always thanks for reading,
ChelsiKay
