Happy Monday everyone! Last week was such a great week, but I’m always happy to start a new one. So, every once in awhile I do actually like to talk about simple living without it being about fashion or skincare and the such. I kind of just want to touch on the mindset of simplicity today…so let’s get to it.
Sometimes the majority of the time, there are outside forces that are just simply out of our control. No matter how much you try to take control of a situation, the outcome is the outcome. There are times where you just have to let go and let whatever happens, happen.
With that being said, the reason I bring this up is that a few days ago I found myself in a situation that left me pretty frustrated. Let’s just say, outside forces (people) failed to communicate with me and I went out of my way for nothing. Once upon a time, I would’ve made a huge fuss and maybe even remained upset the whole day. Instead, I went to my happy place…both mentally and physically.
My happy place is pretty much any place with coffee or tea whether it be Starbucks or some cozy local coffee shop. Mentally, I just had to tell myself to let it go and not to be upset. I made my way to the nearest Starbucks and purchased a Frappuccino and sat there alone scrolling through Instagram until I felt I wasn’t upset anymore.
I’m not going to lie, I slightly did still feel some type of way. However, I also felt like I kind of won because I didn’t let my frustrations take over. I then continued the rest of my day in a really good mood.
Also, I realized that I do tend to try to control situations that cannot be controlled and I really need to break that habit. Finding my happy place (physical and mental) was probably one of the most simple things I have ever done and I would strongly suggest that everyone tries this. Find your happy place people and always go to it when you’re mad, frustrated, sad, or even melancholy!
