Reclaiming My Time

Hey, you all, so I know I didn’t post on Wednesday, but honestly, I had nothing at all to post. Also, my mind was on Thursday, which was my 24^th birthday! Yesterday I spent the day with my friend and they took me to go get my nails and feet done.

The reason why we decided to go get mani’s and pedi’s is because another one of our friends recently got engaged and her engagement party is this weekend too! So actually, my mind has been on this whole weekend because A LOT is going on! However, I did want to post today to let you know I’m still here and am not neglecting this blog whatsoever!

This week started out kind of wonky because I was just not feeling it. That could have been a combination of hormones or just people kind of getting on my nerves. As most of you know I am striving to live more simply so I really do try to not let little things get to me.

One phrase that has stood out to me lately is a phrase spoken by Maxine Waters: “Reclaiming my time.” I know the meaning of that means something entirely different than how I have been applying it to my life, but the phrase just speaks levels to me. Needless to say, the mani and pedi was very much needed and I’m glad that my actual birthday was low key and didn’t involve too many people.

Now with all that said, I want to share one of my birthday gifts with you all. It was something I did actually want, but I did not expect to get it at all. This year I wasn’t too focused on gifts…maybe that’s a sign of growth or something? I probably won’t feel the same when Christmas comes around though.

For the past few months, I have been using my mom’s FujiFilm Instax camera and I think her getting this for me was a way of telling me to give hers back. Fine by me. I love having things of my own and not having to borrow from others…including my mom. Of course, I would have preferred to purchase it myself, but I’m still oh so grateful for the camera. Also, I LOVE the color!

Yesterday was a good day and today will be a good day as well. I will try to have pictures from the engagement party as well as my birthday celebration. Thanks for reading.
