KKW Contour Kit Review…

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a good Fourth of July. I’m starting today off with a beauty post! I had to really think this one through because it’s going to be about Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty contour kit in Dark…

I know, I know, not everyone is a fan of the Kardashian Klan, but who better to make a contour kit (finally) than the queen of contour herself? Now if you have any negative comments that aren’t productive, please keep them to yourself or else they will just be deleted.

First and foremost, is the kit worth $48? That depends on the person. If you wouldn’t normally spend $40+ on anything regarding makeup then maybe not. To me personally, I am someone who is okay with dropping $40+ on makeup – Kardashian or not.

The kit comes with two contour colors, two highlighter colors, and a dual ended tool. I’ll come out and say now that I’m not a fan of the tool, it feels strange to hold and it doesn’t really blend anything that well in my opinion.

The packaging comes in a cute little zip lock bag that people seem to not be a fan of. It doesn’t really bother me all that much because I can reuse it for other things. What I like most about the contour and highlight sticks is that they are really versatile. These don’t have to be used for just contouring or highlighting. After reading the instructions for use online, you can use this as a concealer, an eyelid primer, a base for your highlighter, lip liner, a dark spot corrector…the list honestly goes on.

I did make a mistake in ordering the dark color instead of the deep dark, but I still really love the finish. I get a dewy look without looking sweaty or wet. The dark looks extremely natural and subtly sexy, which I am so here for! I love love love the shimmery highlight – it’s the perfect shade of rose gold for my brown skin.

Of course, there are some cons; the number one being the tool is just weird to hold. These sticks are pretty small…please get your mind out of the gutter (lol.) However, the size of the sticks does create the perfect line for your highlight and contour…all you have to do is blend from there. The sticks do seem to get pretty messy or I’m just a messy person..maybe both.

Overall, Kim K and her team did a pretty good job with this kit. The creams stay on pretty much all day and I would love to see how the deep dark looks on my skin. I would recommend that she comes out with individual sticks so that you can mix and match as you please. The price point really isn’t that bad considering you get four colors plus a tool.

This kit is not something that anyone needs but is just fun to have. I wanted to give a full honest review without talking about Kim K’s past and truly try out this product. I would purchase again especially if she adds individual sticks. So if you were curious about giving the kit a try then go for it…or not. Thanks for reading. Look out for another post this Friday.
