The “Hangover” Routine

So last night I went out, as I do most summer nights on the weekend. I went to my favorite rooftop and basically kicked off my Summer by drinking (alcoholic)  peach slushies on a nice warm summer night.

Naturally, I woke up in the morning feeling kind of blah and dehydrated. I won’t go as far as to say I was hungover, but I was feeling some after effects for sure. So of course, I have a whole routine to bring me back to life…especially my skin.

First off I start by going ham with the water. I’ve probably had about four or five glasses of water today and I’m still so thirsty. I like to drink alkaline water because it supposedly rids the body of toxins…but I also like my good ‘ol filtered water too.

For whatever reason, my nail polish always gets chipped on one or two of my nails whenever I go out. Last night, they got pretty messed up somehow, so the blue will be coming off right after this blog post. Any good nail polish color recommendations?

As I’m typing this, I have a hydrating mask on my face. I have the Farmacy Honey Potion on to be exact. This mask never fails to make my skin feel so smooth and look glowy, which is great after a night out drinking.

Normally, I would include a lip mask as well, but I currently don’t have one on me. I like to get the sheet lip masks from Sephora for $3. They actually do work especially after a good lip scrub!

Last, but not least, I rest! I use this time to catch up on my shows and get some much-needed sleep. It’s great to go out and enjoy yourself, but it’s even better to take care of yourself after a long night. I’m a huge fan of pampering myself even if I have no reason to! I plan to write more about self-pampering in the near future because it’s so important!

That’s it for tonight, you guys. As always, thanks for reading!
