Skin Tints & Micellar Water Review

I was not at all sure what to write about today, but then it hit me…I have a FEW reviews to do today! Then I got overly excited and almost spontaneously combusted, not really but can you imagine? I’m kind of over doing individual reviews, so I decided to do three mini reviews on different products. Anything I review I like…hell anything I buy I like. The off chance I don’t like something that I purchased, I return it. I’m not trying to go on a tangent or anything, but I only say that because people think lots of bloggers/social media influencers are lying about liking a product when they review them. Or they just don’t mention the products they dislike and keep it moving…? I could go down a rabbit hole about this – maybe for another post someday.

Anyway! On to the mini reviews! All three of the products have been in my possession for at least three weeks to a month now, so I’ve had pretty ample time to use them to have an honest opinion on them.

Dr. Jart’s Dermaclear™ Mirco Water

It’s micellar water if you haven’t guessed. I’ve always been a little skeptical about micellar water…mainly when people only use micellar water as a form of cleansing. I feel like my face would bubble up into one big pimple if I didn’t clean it properly. I do wear light to medium coverage daily though, so that could be why.

I’m really feeling Dr. Jart as of recently. The sheet masks and moisturizer are pretty amazing, so why wouldn’t their micellar water be?

So there’s not too much I can say about micellar water except, does it get all my makeup off? Yes, at least the makeup I can see anyway. I use about 1½ cotton pads to remove the visible makeup and I can go on about my day until I decided to wash my face for real. I consider the micellar water my first cleanse and then I follow up with my Boscia’s Deep Cleansing Charcoal Stick.

Compared to Bioderma and Garnier, the Dermaclear™ is a steep price retailing at $32. However, the bottle is pretty big and I feel like I use fewer cotton pads than I do with Garnier’s Micellar Water.

I haven’t decided if I would purchase again, but it is a huge possibility.

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint

So, I like this tinted moisturizer, but they do not provide much coverage for my acne scarring prone skin. That is obviously a personal problem, but if you’re thinking about getting this for coverage…keep looking. However, they are AMAZING to mix with other foundations that aren’t your color at the moment. If you tan or change colors in the summer or winter months then it is nice to have some type of drops around to mix with your foundation/BB cream/tinted moisturizer. They are especially good for if you are an in-between color and can’t find the right base color for any brand. Maybe you’ve got an expensive base that you’re almost at the end of and you want to make it last, these are your drops.

I was mixing the Skin Tint with my Tom Ford because it was too light for me once the warmth came around and they worked wonders. If I had a much clearer complexion, I’d without a doubt opt for the Glossier Skin Tint…if they were formulated with some kind of sunscreen. Of course, I could wear sunscreen underneath, but sunscreen mixed with a base has never worked for anybody with oily skin. Maybe it works for these drops because they are pretty damn lightweight.

The consistency is very liquidy, it’s like tinted water basically. The price is pretty mid range retailing at $26 so you won’t break your bank trying it out.

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Skin Tint

I was pretty shook when I found out that Philosophy had a tinted moisturizer that was also in my color. Philosophy was my go-to skin care line back in the day (lol.) I couldn’t even pass up trying out this Skin Tint. I was not expecting to like this product so much. It comes in a jar, which is kind of weird, but there’s SO much in it!

The skin tint is buildable and doesn’t seem to cake or crease when you add more. It’s extremely lightweight while still having a creamy consistency. I actually look forward to putting this stuff on every day! This is the first ever tinted moisturizer that I actually like and would repurchase for as long as they kept the same formula and colors. This Skin Tint is formulated with SPF which is a huge plus and retails at $39. I personally think this product is worth way more but I am NOT complaining!
