Blogmas Day 4: Favorite Song This Year

Last year was an amazing year for music and I wish the same could be said for this year. Most of the songs that I listened to last year overlapped to this year so at least that was helpful. Now, I’m not saying there wasn’t ANY good music out, but there were just periods of time where no new music was coming out. I’m also no music expert either, so bear with me. I like pretty much all genres of music and as long as I can dance to it, I’m GOOD!

I pretty much jammed out to Justin Bieber’s Purpose all the way into the New Year – go ahead and judge me, Biebs has some pretty great music. While, Beyonce blessed everyone with some Lemonade, it’s not one of those albums that you can listen to ALL day, EVERY day. One Dance and Controlla by Drake did have my friends and I wanting to go clubbing every weekend though…

Well obviously I’m having a hard time choosing just one song, because I could go on and on about every artist in my playlist if I wanted to. So I’m going to choose my top 3 favorite songs this year. I do like pretty mainstream songs, so if you’re still interested then keep on reading. (:

#3 The Greatest – Sia ft. Kendrick Lamar

I just love Sia, I’ve always loved Sia. She typically sings about more depressing true-life realities, but you’ve got to admit her voice is really great. This particular song was more upbeat, inspiring and I think I may have played it about 100 times since it was released.

#2 This is What You Came For – Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna

Apparently there is a bit of controversy behind this song, but I don’t really care because it happens to be a great song. It wasn’t one of those songs that got old after you played it too much either. Like I said, I like songs that you can dance to no matter how repetitive. I also really love a song that instantly makes you smile when you’re singing along.

#1 Bacon – Nick Jonas ft. Ty Dolla $ign

I’m honestly surprised I didn’t hear this song more when I went out, because it really gets you hype. When I first heard it I was sure it was going to be a ballad and then the all of a sudden – bass out of freaking nowhere! My friends and I listen to this song whenever we’re on our way to a party or an outing to get us all amped. And I mean how can you not like Nick Jonas? He can REALLY sing and have you seen this man? He’s also singing a song about Bacon and (almost) everybody loves bacon!

This post was definitely different from my normal post, but I enjoyed writing it. I hope you all enjoyed it as well. Stay tuned for Day 5 of Blogmas!
